    Fitting Hid's to a vxr

Hey all, having a bit of trouble trying to fit my hid kit into my astra vxr, i fitted the kit into my old Mk4 wich was pretty easy as with lots of space to work in, but the new car is tight for space, and when it comes to wiring them in there is three black wires for the dipped beam bulb, pretty confused and dont want to wire them up wrong and do any damage, is it easier to remove the headlights and fit the bulbs etc, have looked but there doesnt seem to be a how 2 guide, any info will be much apprecated people .

    Very nice Iain.

You will have a problem with the canbus wiring of the VXR and HID kits. The wiring and auto fault sensing element of the car checks the bulb continously to make sure it works. When fitting the HID kit this will mean you will get an error on the dash saying there is a fault with the front bulbs. As far as I'm aware the lights will work but this fault up on the screen won't disapear so your radio station ect will be blanked out in favour of this message (so I'm led to believe). Not owning a VXR or Astra H I cannot say for certain.

PM a member on here TomH he has a 888 MK5 and has HID's fitted I believe.

Yeah they cost about £300 and come in various colour ranges

I have a link somewhere, but will have to dig it out. Not cheap but they work fine with no problems
