Coupe Turbo advice and information needed

    Hi,

I am considering a Coupe Turbo but what are they like to live with on a day to day basis? I have my eye on one that I have always liked the look of and would like a chance to own one before I need to get family orientated in a couple of years time (slippery slope and all that).

Also what MPG do you get from them inc miles per tank

Is there a headroom issue for rear seat passengers

Are these supposed to run on Super or normal unleaded?

What issues should I look out in one?

    Any help appreciated.

    Get it bought son!

Mine averaged 31mpg and drank the supermarket's finest unleaded without complaint.

yeh same about 29-33mpg average on standard map. check the manifold on the turbo for any cracks and she aint smoking blue smoke when running around. just make sure you let her warm up before thrashin and warm down after thrashing so you dont kill ya turbo. you can run normal unleaded 'ok' on a standard turbo but i would defo go for super unleaded when mapping, however i use super unleaded on my standard just to play safe. also there is loads of headroom space in the rear, i gotta get to kids in the back of mine into car seats so!

I agree! Buy it now. They look ace with a few choice mods. There easy to live with. Im 6'2 and have no probs sittin in the back. I travel from newcastle to Kings lynn (norfolk) and back every weekend and average between 30-32 mpg cruising along. If im in a hurry siting at 85-90 mph i get 27-29 mpg. To be honest not much difference to ma mk3 1.8 i had. They run fine on any unleaded fuel, but v-power or the likes does seem to work a bit better. Just look out for the normal stuff like smoky turbo's, and cracked manifolds on standard units. Oh and if there's a cone filter on with standard map check the plugs to see if its ran lean, some do. Other than that just the normal stuff.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.... Just considering it at the moment as not really in the best position to buy but it is at a fantastic price, trouble is can I justify the change to the missus in training as the wedding is in August.

Great cars, you'll get about 33-35 mpg using unleaded fuel out of a standard car. I get 29 mpg using super unleaded form my CS4 290 bhp coupe turbo.

There's lots of room in the back for two adults, leg and head room that is.

Infact you could use one with children as the boots a decent size too.

Try to get one with a nice interior (not just cloth) and check the car for over all condition and crash damage.

I've had mine 3 & 1/2 years and will probally keep it for another 3 or so.

I still smile when I drive it

Mark just go for it! I didn't find my coupe turbo too bad on fuel. It was excellent to drive though (once mapped and lowered). Def go for it if you are getting a bargain mate.

    Here are some details...

Coupe Turbo on a 2001 X-plate looking to try and get it for £3k

    Mileage ain't too bad at 67k (mine is 71k on a 1999 T-plate)

I know a little bit about the car as know seom of its previous history.

Only thing that is holding me back at the moment is the lack of employment just now But trying to remidy that ASAP

Next question is what is my car worth...? in standard form
