Pay as you drive norwich union very interesting

If your over 25 and like me dont do more than 4000 a year ring them you could save a bundle
i had my renewal through this year at 262 fully comp, age 42 1.6 8valve
told em about the mods and they said 282
i said flux would do it for 200 so they then put me through to pay as you drive as they gave me the usual rubbish about being a loyal customer
so half an hour later and speaking to a very helpfull person this is what i got
no good for you high mileage people but good for me
As long as you dont drive between midnight and 6 lots and to much between 7 and 10 like me you could save a bundle
i am now paying 120 a year with 4000 off peak miles free and 400 peak miles free as well
if i go over the allowance i get charge 0.52 off peak and 1.2 p per mile peak
    it certainly works for me
    anyone else do it
oh and also get trafficmaster at the touch of a button, no screen but can be upgraded im sure autosparks will advise on that for me

P.s a Big Thanks to Dan at Flux for the help in quotes but got to go with this for saving money

Funny I should read this and see my name mentioned. I guess by traffic master you mean the smart nav with TM button. These alone fitted cost 3 years worth of insurance at those prices I believe but I bet if you use it it will be on the PAYG version. Screen upgrade is easy as it just plugs in

Not sure i'd like big brother constantly watching me and the speed I drive. This sort of thing would work out great for my granddad though

    Hi there
yep thats the one with the button, is a free fit from norwich union with 30 day trial but apparently you can pay per journey, im good with a map so wouldnt need the nav bit, its going to save me a fair whack on the insurance though and also have the option to use the nav if needed, i only average 3000 a year down here in sunny cornwall so my insurance for the year is going to be less than 120 a year with mods declared so works for me i guess
as you say the big brother bit is a bit unnerving but im not a speed freak just like the car to look reasonable hence the 8vavler lol

    sounds intresting,

i personally would happily pay and extra £80 a year to not worry about when/how much i drive and just be able to relax about it but each to their own,
does make sense for people who are sure they wont do alot of miles tho,

I don't believe there is even if you had the screen

I will give it a go this year and see how it does, if i do under my monthly allowance i would only pay 7.46 for that period so i will keep all posted how it goes

Lol - quite a good idea for me then - although I doubt that they would insure all my mods
