    Airbag ECU

    Hello m8s:
a friend of mine had an accident , he had to change air bags.

But he said that the Airbag ECU also needs to be changed.

I just want to know ,is it really necessary to change the ECU after accident?

and where can I order ECU and how much does it cost?

If you can reset the Air bag light with Tech 2, then the ECU is fine.

So no need to replace it.
I expected so , it's hard to believe that the airbag ECU is one time only.

Well , if it's really damaged , how much does it cost. i think the part number is 09229302

Once ecu has crash dta it cannot be re programmed you will need to send to a air bag reset specailist this costs you £60,
if replaceing with a second hand ecu you must make sure it comes from a vehicle with the same amount of airbags as they are all configured different to the amount of airbags...

I have just spent 2 weeks on sorting out my ecu and i now know the in's and outs of air bag ecu's...

also airbag ecu retail are aprox £250 from vaux...
