Advice On Brand New Vxr Turbo

Just got my brand new VXR turbo from main dealer today & unwraped it at home, can people give me advice as ive have reordered a new one because when I hold the Turbo shaft I can move it left to right like 2mm or more this ain't good for a new turbo is it? There is no play in and out on the shaft though. I don't want to fit this on my car and then it goes bang 10 miles down the road. What do you guys think ?

    Cheers

as far as oam aware you will get a little play as the bearing for the shaft is encased in oil so when you fit it the play goes away

    NO RISK NO FUN

I would say its more than a little play, I'm really not happy with it It moves left and right like a broken old turbo would not far from hitting casing.

Mine came with considerable side play but no end float, I assumed it was to account for expansion when hot. Had it on a while now with no problems

I would expect just a tiny bit of movement on the shaft I know, but something is telling me this one aint right, my mate's was solid compared to this and he's had it fitting and all is well. Ive also told vauxhall I ain't having it and they are ordering a new one for thursday I will let you guys know what the new one's like.

My turbo came with hardly any side to side movement, but it did move in and out, but was fitted anyway.... recently had a de-cat and had a wiggle, and its not much better than the buggered one i removed 3 months previous, the small amount of movement has been amplified considerably, after only 2k, it aint gonna last and im not going to bother with the warranty, cos they`ll reject it on the grounds that the car is `modded` and it shouldnt be on my ZLET. Do yourself a favour and send it back, get one thats as good as your mates, as for mine, its going to turbo technics for a decent barring and a 2 yr warranty...the quality of engineering on offer here is shocking, Wake up VX...
