My fun weekend with the coupe

Well since i got her ive always knew she liked drinking
oil but got to the point where its time to do somert about
it and change the piston rings.
oh with the help of my mate from work
(cheers jamesy aka - deadmeat )

So fri after i finished went to my mum & dads and chucked
her in the garage for the strip down was there fri 6pm - 10:30

So after stripping the head off and all the pistons out turned out piston 4
was the main problem loads of burnt crap (gunk like) on the top.
So took most of the engine into work for us to clean up and re-do the
    valve stem seals.

Sat morning we were both at work so we got what we could done
the valve compressor tool was missing tho think someone took
it home to do a side job n that fu**ed us up.
So after ringing round to see if anyone had one i decided just to go to romac
bit the bullet and buy one.
When we got home decided to do the pistons first so cleaned up and all new
    rings on.

Time for the pistons to go in !!
Hit another snag (about 2pm at this point)
the new 2nd ring wont compress enough for us to get em in the block
so after 3 hours of trying getting pi**ed off and scratching our heads
turned out there was more carbon in the 2nd ring than first thought so
cleaned them all again and hey presto they went in easy.

So after fu**ing about with the pistons for ages was time to do the
    valves so striped the head.

Got the head on about 11:30 sat night but decided to carry on rebuilding to
we felt the need to stop but we managed to get her fired up on the first try
    at 3:15am this morning.
    Heres a few more pics.

All thanks to my mate jamesy for the help (aka - deadmeat )

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring
