    Please help!! Quick Question

I am trying to sell my 2003 sxi astra.

Having just put it online I got into the car this morning to find the light for the mileage/distance is not working you can just about see the mileage if you look really hard! Does anyone know if this will be expensive to fix?

If I dont get it fixed how much money should I knock off the asking price?

    Thanks for your help

    Chris

are the MFD and the speedo backlights etc dim too?

1st thing to try, is the sliding adjuster near the light switch to see if its been knocked down and dimmed the dash. you'll see what I mean if you look, its a pic of a speedo clock/similar... slide it to the top, and if you're very lucky you may just be sorted

more likely to be the dash brightness adjuster having been knocked down if the whole thing is equally dim. if it were a bulb gone then one part would be brighter than the other on the mileage display/odometer.

The dimmer switch is on its brightest!

You can't ever see the mileage when your lights are off.

How difficult would it be to replace the bulb? is it hours of work?

Should only take about 30mins and thats for a novice.

Click on the how-to below for instructions on removing the instrument binnacle

Vauxhall actually specified a different bulb for the mileage display but from experience Ive just fitted regular twist fit dash bulbs.
