You may have seen my Corsa at a SE regional meet, so I thought I would post up some pictures and the story behind it.
My Vectra had a gearbox problem, and trying to find a F23 to fit a V6 was hard work - it took me 4 months in the end to get that sorted.
Whilst all this was happening, I thought I would get a little run around as the Vectra was not sounding very healthy and I did not want the car totally undriveable.
In September, I spotted a Corsa 1.2 LS on Corsa Sport. It had been transformed into a 1.4 SRi replica, by added the engine, gearbox, seats, badges and rear spoiler.
The car was in Barnet, North London. So I took a hire car from a gearbox specialist to North London to see it. Bodywork wise it was in good nick, with a few dings/dents and the engine sounded ok (little did I know). I went back on the Saturday and went to pick it up. Lets just say it had a few issues, and it ended up being recovered back up Leicestershire. It was times like this you wished you had never bought the car.
Anyway, it is all fixed and the other weekend I managed to spend some time on it and clean the outside and engine bay.
Here are some pics:-
I have now done 4,000 miles in it since I changed the cylinder head in September and it is making regular trips up and down the motorway from Leicestershire to Kent.
It costs me £220 fully comp to insure it and it has cost me around £500 so far and I should get that back if I was to sell it.
