My car's water pump broke down while I was driving. My temperature went up to more than 100 and I immediately stopped my car. I replaced my water pump and timing belt set together with the bearings, and got a new tensioner also. We also cleaned out the throttle body. I drive an Astra G sedan, 99 model. When we replaced the parts that I mentioned, the idling was off. it was rough until the it dropped out and shut down the engine. We removed the MAF connection i think it was called, the one that is just on top of the air filter which regulates the air. The idling was still rough but the engine didn't die out. So I drove it around for probably 2 weeks or so until the car started to die out again. Whenever I rev my car and stop, the engine dies out. the idling was still rough. what could be the problem?
