    Insurance advice...

Right, Im looking to change my car around about now.

Basically, come June, me and a few friends are heading off to the ring for Rock AM ring, and my car wont cut it... I refuse to drive to germany in a 1.6 8v with 3+ big guys and luggage...

plus i want a new car anyways.

So my question, i put it to you is this...

I have 3 months left on my current insurance policy after these 3 monmths, i get a years no claims bonus...

but its not an ordinary policy, its a pay as you go policy, where i pay month by month and if i stop paying, i stop getting insurance.

So it works the same way as a 12 month policy, but i pay monthly basically, and get a year NCD after just 8 months.

My question for you lovely people is this:

If i were to go and buy the car i want now (BMW 330ci) could i change my policy so the car goes from the astra to the BMW to live out the last 3 months of my policy (obviously there will be a price hike since its a different car) so i get my NCD and then move onto a cheaper company? or would i have to leave the policy and lose my efforts towards the accrued NCD?

My second insurance question is this:

I have been driving for 18 months at the end of this policy, and will have 2 years NCD (i did a 10 month accellerator and a 8 month accellerator - what im presently on). How do i go about getting this NCD added, most if not all the sites i have been to require the number of years license held to match with the NCD... which mine doesnt! so i imagine theres some 10 month accellerator users on the site, how do you go about this?

is it just better to phone up and ask the insurer whats thier take on this... accellerator plans must be really common these days, even Tesco use them, yet dont let you input the data properly on thier site :S

If anyone has any helpful advice, i would love to hear it....

    Cheers

    Ste

Unfortunately mate, accelerater schemes are only warrented by the companies that offer them.

I got bit in the ass by this after my 2nd year of driving.

Some may give you that time as driving experience i.e flux did with me but that was only due to me been a new customer and come renewal time i didn't get the same option.

Some places may be different but i haven't found them yet.

hmm... I got my Bell ones through as an actual NCD... then when i went with ecarinsurance they varified that it was a year ncd.

Hmm, maybe its dependant on the company... i best give ecarinsurance a ring :/
