hi my cousins astra was doing that also the power steering took a while to cut in as it is electric. it was his alternator not charging proply so try putting a volt meter or a jump pack with a volt meter and a test button on the battery before starting the car and then test it when the car is started if the volts drob below 12v then the battery is not being charged properly.. hope this helps

i Suggest going elsewhere for you battery next time! I paid £35 for min after 3 phone calls! and ironicaly it was the place closest to my house that was the cheapest!

I don;t think the battery has anything to do with stalling as you can disconnect the battery and it wont stall!, maybe you have knocked a plug on the side of the coil pack while changing the battery?

Thanks I'll have another poke around.

Oh and the voltage @ the battery is around 14.something with the engine running.

Thats my thinking also... Im not sure if its a ICV or just a case of cleaning your TB. Depends on your engine... and even if you new what engine I still woudnt know wether it used a ICV or not, lol

Either way, try cleaning the TB, theres a how-to in the cleaverly named section

And yes, Next time get a battery from VXl, and tell them you are part of a VBOA club... You wont get it anywhere cheeper, think mine was around £30.
