    Astra Clock / Door Speakers

    Hi all,

I have been reading through a few posts on this forum and if somebody wouldn't mind I have a few questions...

I have a 2006 5 door Astra. I have an alpine head unit but I understand that when I remove the standard radio I will lose the time ability. I am going to buy the steering control adapter, will this restore the time and date?

I also want to upgrade the door speakers (front and back) but I am concerned that even with the speaker door adapters the speakers may not fit (I experienced a similar problem with my old Corsa) Is this a common problem with the Astra? If so could somebody recommend speakers that would fit?

    Many many thanks in advance

Alpine is the only make at the moment thats compatiable with both steering wheel controls and the top display while also keeping the ability to chnage the time to

Speaker wise i've not heard of any problems with depth issues with the right size speaker (17cm in the front, not sure on the rear). Ive experienced this problem on older vauxhall's (mk3 astra and before) but since the mk4 it's been ok

Thank you for the reply Autosparks, that is good news.

If I may ask one more question about connection leads.

    I think I require 3 different cables:

    • The ISO - Astra cable (for the audio connections)
    • The PC99-X80 (for the stalk adapter)
    • PC99-ALP (Alpine connection for the stalk adapter)
Will these cables listed enable the top display to work or what I need something else?

    Many thanks,

If your going to have a alpine headunit working the top display you need to use a part made by alpine I believe and not the Autoleads part. If yiur going for steering wheel controls only then yes those parts are correct, you don't need a ISO adaptor though as thats part of the wiring loom in the stalk adaptor

Don't forget a aerial adaptor to
