    bunch of problems

    hi, thought i would pop over as you guys know shed loads more than the vx220 forum

    I have a Z20LET VXR220. Mods are CMS remap, new VXR injectors, hybrid vxr220 turbo, NGK iridium "7" plugs (std gap, 6 months old),new courtenay uprated actuator,Helix clutch + lightened fly,new solenoid on turbo,new AMM. It is ****in fast!!! Anyway - my problems...

    - when changing gear (1,2,3) @ 2.5 - 3k the revs will occasionally jump 200rpm or hang. If i come off the gas (dont touch clutch/brake), the engine revs hang before you feel the engine goes into overrun. So i doubt it is the clutch switch
    - when pressing part throttle and coming off quickly it will occasionally chatter at 2500rpm. Sometimes it is a judder (linked to above??)
    - after full bore acceleration (2,3), to 6k, on changing up i get a backfire! (dispack or plugs?)
    -It may be my imagination but it sounds like a tractor under load @1000rpm in 5th.

    Spoke to courtenay and they will naturally look at it but 360 mile round trip when i could change the DISpack/sensor/actuator first. Got a OBD but no boost guage if that helps

    Any thoughts please as the 1st 2 are getting right on my t1ts

    Welcome to the site - personally I'd rule out plugs first as they are the cheapest option (check the gap it may be blowing out under boost (0.7 would be right for your setup)) then check the rest of the ignition system - DIS pack & AFM, worth getting a fellow club member or a mate that you can swap bits over with to rule them out.

    Thanks. Spent about 2+ hours searching here the other night. Got the original plugs in the garage so will swap out. Got a mate lending me his DIS pack this weekend

    any thoughts on the revs jumping/holding? Couldnt find anything....

    BTTT - anyone had any problems with either the Pedal position sensor or the throttle positioner??

    ive seen a similar problem on another car for the revs staying up and it had a vacum pipe off could try and see if you have an air leak that would possibly cause it

    Got a boost gauge rigged up and its reading -21inhg

    I don't know too much about these engines, but I've heard of people having problems with weak actuators and BCS's

    could the actuator bolt be loose? strange how the boost gauge is doing that..

    is the boost as in power output strange or is it just the reading thats strange?
