    What Alarm

Well i now have a car thats actually worth something so i want to look after it. Live in a bit of a rough estate so i deally want a good alarm that has the motion sensors, proximity (sp) sensors etc. I would also like the intelistart or similar but not sure what alarm to go for.

I dont usually have alot of spare cash and have seen on back of a few mags that you can pay monthly on some.

Any ideas welcome also if it helps insurance that would be better

drive a mk4 sri dti if its needed

I wouldn't bother with intellistart, and personally would go TOAD ai606, or if you have a cat 2 immobiliser as std then a C5T2 whihc is a 2:1 upgrade to cat 1.

All vehicles from 1998 have to have cat2's as standard IMO Meta hands down for reliability if you are looking for a bog standard add on, but it does not offer you an external prox though

Proximity will alert the chavs you have an alarm, and they have great fun in setting it off.

I speak from experience, the little darlings.

    I have an Ai606

You WILL have a immobiliser as standard, you MAY have a alarm which if you have you will notice a LED in the centre of your hazard switch. If you have that the alarm will be thatham cat 1 insurance apporved

Alarm wise i'll always recomend sigma's, toad and cobra's are also great but as with any alarm it's only as good as the person fitting it.

Totaly agree with Lee's point above on proximety sensors
