hello mate, ive fitted 1 to my corsa and considering putting one in the astra, there easy to fit and wired up, u would want to wire it up to a new switch and put it sumwhere its not gonna get hit accidently. the only problem u will have is getting the boot to open, the switch has to be on a momentary switch, whitch means as soon as u let go the boot will catch on the secondary latch. so if u have delocked it u cant open it with out getting some 1 to hold the button while u open the boot. ive read on here that you can get a boot latch from 1 of the nexias? which only has 1 locking catch so solves that problem. sorry bout the essay just thought i wud give u all the info lol. p.s you would allso have to delock the boot which leaves u with a hole?
now on my 7th vaux and its a van baby!!!

Or Just adjust the latch in the boot, it just means you will have to close it harder but it will stay open as soon as the button is pressed

Mine works a treat Adjust it so you have to close down the boot harder But if you use a motor like the one in the link above it may not be able to through the rod, installations such as boot release you are best of using a solenoid ie electromagnetic solenoid not a motor solenoid, They are a lot stronger and don't have a thermal cut out like a solenoid with a motor
