    Coupe turbo whistling on acceleration...

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas....

Had a new VXR turbo fitted last year, but last night SMELT BURNING.

Today i notice a WHISTLE when accelerating, what could this be?

Also have noticed that the vacuum used to be -20 whilst driving, now its -23.

Could this be a hose, or has turbo had it ???

    Thanks for any wisdom

    yeah m8.

get under the car and check to see if there is play in the shaft.
also check for oil in intercooler pipe.

did you get a warranty with the turbo?

    Is this dangerous?

Can i still use the car or will this cause more damage?

Il need to save for a new turbo , but in the mean while need to use my car.

Il have a look to see if any hoses have disconnected, im supprised that my turbo would have packed up after a year or so (as it was a new VXR turbo fitted)

I dont drive irratic or fast, due to the cost in petrol.

    Anything else it may be?

Or is anyone local that could have a look for me?

    Thanks

if your turbo sounds the same as the video clip then yours is on its way out, mine sounded similar and then found my engine oil in my intercooler !! check your seals and pipework m8, and dont push the engine too hard....aint 1 year warranty`s a laugh.
