Fitting CID to replace existing MFD Trip?

    Hi all,

I'm looking at replacing the MFD screen in my Astra H with a CID unit so that I can use the screen for other inputs but also keep the functionallity of the trip computer.
Does anyone know if its possible to do - is it literally just a straight swap of the screen and surround ?
Also any ideas where I might get hold of a CID (doesn't need to be new!) for reasonable money ?

    Cheers

there has been a few threads on this lately,

iirc if you have a trip computer now then you can fit a CID, but, this screen needs to be "divorced" from the current unit its attached to (decoded) then recoded to your headunit by vauxhall (if you have the standard one) but if you have a aftermarket one will be fine.
There may be more to it but thats the jist, they arn't cheap tho, wish they were and id get one,

Anyone recommend anywhere I might find one that's been 'decoded' properly ?
