    1.8 Exhaust

Hi I have a x18xe1 hatch with flange fitment.

I have been offered an exhaust at a cheap price but I'm not sure whether it will fit properly or not? It is an estate backbox and the part number is 24423003

Aise from the the tailpipe possibly needing trimmed will the mountings and flange fitment all line up correctly?

how cheap is cheap and who will be doin the modifications to the tailpipe?

Reason I ask is that u can get a brand new backbox - hatch specific for £40 from a local motor factors. Or for the same price u can have my old twin 3.5" backbox lol

if the tailpipe just needs trimmed down it can be done with hacksaw and guide v easily.

is this the only thing i'll need to do to get it to fit?

Looking at the walker exhaust diagrams on the website referenced above, although the back boxes are different parts the mid sections are the same. Therefore the flanges should meet appropriatly.

However id doesn't reference diamentions and you may find that the mounting brackets are not in the same place on the back box.

IMO a good price would be about £5 for me to want to attempt to fit an estate box to my hatch. Otherwise you may as well buy a new box or a sport item.

    Hope that helps

This is for the X18XE1 by the way
