    german ebay...

anyone a regular user? ever carried out a transaction despite speaking very little german and despite the seller speaking NO english whatsoever?

I've found a couple of sets of rear lights for the mk3, but although I've emailed the company selling them, the reply to the email I got was that they don't have any english speakers

so I wondered if I should just take a punt and look into ordering the lights, and see where we go from there? Basically I want to find out if the lights I'm looking at need the same modification as the lexmaul ones did/do, to fit the other foglight. however despite my best efforts with Google's translation tools I've got nowhere

I'm going to try another seller, but if I have no luck, then should I just take a punt? don't want to waste any money that TBH I can't afford, hence my uncertainty...

I've bought the occasional thing from Germany through UK eBay and it's been fine - we're both in the EU after all

I would say as long as you know what you're buying, and payment is via PayPal, you should be fine. You got a link to what it is you're buying?

yeah IIRC foreign (ie LHD) vehicles don't have a foglight hole which is needed under UK law. I beleive the Lexmaul one's that people used to import (and maybe still do?) you could drill the hole and use your old bulbholder, and I wanted to find out if this would be the case here.

I did try with Google's translator, but they didn't really understand what I was saying. I will try another one for a different seller. cheers

a problem with alot of these translators is they dont make alot of snese when translated, a good test is to translate it to the language you want, then translate it back to english and if you can understand it you might be ok, otherwise dont bother sending it,

It happens with most translators, but most of the time the people get the jist of what your trying to say, so it ends up all good.
