    Bouncy suspension

    Hi all,recently my astra has started to become really bouncy when driving,I checked all the springs and tyre pressure and they all seem to be fine!any other ideas?

    Sounds like the shocks have gone/are tired.

    Do a bounce test on each corner - any more than 1½ bounces means they are guff

    the back is only springs and i seems to be coming from there,i cant really notice any difference on the front

    The rear dampers are seperate from the springs on the Astra. They are there just not inside or next to the springs. They mount on the outside of the beam, near the wheel hub. It does sound like a tired damper, or maybe one has blown a seal. When you spot the dampers see if they are damp with oil, they shouldn't be.
