My brother-in-law had one on his ford focus and that passed the MOT with it, it may just be up to the tester tho

is it that all new cars have to be made with a third brake light by law. but its ok if you car never had a third brake light. its not illegal to drive with one brake light out if you have three therefore it doesnt matter about this mod, as long as you have two working lights its fine.

As far as the MOT goes, If a light is connected then it has to work otherwise it's a fail. So you should be fine as long as the lights work.

Not my cup of tea though

technically because the light is wired up and is obscured by more than 50% it should fail but tbh most mot stations will pass it. i know i would anyway!
