    Question USB Headunit

Hey guys, im looking to change my standard headunit to a new one that will read mp3s from a usb memory stick, but i want the port to be on the back so i can wire an extension into the glovebox (the idea of a memory stick just sticking out of the headunit seems tatty).

Problem is, i cant find too many that have the usb port on the rear, anyone got any ideas, or even useful sites i could search?

    Thanks guys

id imagine there are none with USB on the back...as that would mean 99% of the market wouldnt buy it or use it......

Only the serious mods like you mention would be worth it...

considered getting one sith an SD card slot? you wouldnt have anything sticking out the front then and could still update your tunes on most computers and play mp3s

IDA-X001, works with memory sticks and ipods. so either. and the usb slot is on the back. it comes with a cable which is long enuf to reach the drivers side glove box. is an excellent unit. powerful, and is good for system building

And almost every manufacturer will be releasing a spate of headunits with USB on the back. Alpine and Kenwood will be releasing models with both USB and IPOD control built in. In fact Some even have 2 usb's, bluetooth built in and IPod coming off the back.

Expect to start seeing the new 2008 ranges from March onwards.

Thanks guys, gona take a look at the specs of these headunits, hope my 150 budget doesn't limit me too much. I went to my local audio specialist and they recommended this: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pion...ub-p-6359.html
I do quite like it but i dunno if they're just rating it cos they're trying to shift it
