Coupe/GSI skirts on 5door hatch - arch spats??

I am picking up some coupe skirts tomorrow and I'm aware that there will be a 'small gap' left between the rear arch and the skirt. I don't intend on paying the stupid price for the GSI spats to cover the hole. (If i did buy them however, would they even fit the 5door rear arches??)

Excluding the offchance of getting some rear arch spats cheap, I have read that ffeog had modified his skirts so that there was no longer a gap?
How easy is to fill this gap and is there any photos of ffeogs skirts?

....or is the gap so little that i needn't bother trying to hide it and just leave it as it is. - what would you do?

Don't think i'll be buying a set of them then lol. If its really not that big of a gap then i'll probably just leave it. (i just don't wnat the skirts to look they they shouldn't be there / don't fit properly)

The gap is about 5mm - and doesn't look good once you notice it, hence me sorting that out before fitting them
