Have you wired up your coolant temp sensor correctly, have you tried replacing it? Regard the power steering, why have you connected it too the alternator, im not totally offay with c20let looms but i would guess its should be wired to the but should be part of the loom with a line running from the fuse box. Does the power steering pump have just a pos and a neg? if so you can connect it too the battery to see if your pump is actually working or not.

have you tapped the mk4 coolant temp sensor in to the let thermostat housing? the fan staying on and the temp gauge not working happens when the temp sensor is not wired.
connect the blue and white wire to the battery + and the pas should work.
the blue and white wire should go to the D+ on the alternator so the pas gets a engine running signal.
im not sure why your not getting hot air have you got the pipes to the heater the right way?

    Jesus.
    - Old Ecu feeds the temp gauge on the dash. It serves no other purpose than that.
    - Fan stays on. You must have wired it wrong. Permenant live maybe?
    - Pepe knows his shit. The LET thermostat needs the old coolant sensor plugged in. A machine shop did mine. Failing that, airblock? Or not enough coolant in the system. Run it up to temp (hot) to see if system pressurises ok.
    - PAS. No idea.

im not sure which way the pipes go i took a chance on mine and the heaters worked fine. ill try and take a pic later for you so you can see which way mine go.
for the temp gauge you need to remove the temp sensor from your old engine

and tap it in to the let thermostat housing

you need to remove the single pin sensor from the stat housing its a blue wire iirc. and thats for the gauge in the car you got the engine from you dont need this now.
the white plug in the above pic is where the single pin sensor was. the white plug is the mk4 temp sensor and the hole had to be tapped for the mk4 sensor to fit.
in your mk4 loom there will be a brown wire and a blue wire these are your temp sensor wires.

use an in pipe fan switch avaliable from demon tweaks.
get a temp sensor gauge. let works on volts, mk4 works on millivolts.
    duno bout your heaters.
