How hard it is to change the pads/discs on the front/rear?

And does anybody know what brakes will fit to the Astra, that are the same off any other car? What I mean is will the Mk3 GSI discs fit, or will any off a corsa/omega/veccy/cav fit?

Any info at all would be much appreciated

256 up front and 240 at back

best to stick with items listed as mk4 to be on the safe side.

grooved/drilled/combi discs from mtec100 on ebay are very good value for money - coupe them up with a quality pad and ur sorted ... or cheaper still a set of pattern parts from a local motor factor.... expect to pay about £60-80 for front/rear discs/pads

if youve never changed brakes before - get a haynes manual - all the info you need is in there

    47??? I got quoted 110

promptly followed by me telling the guy to F off and storming out of the crap excuse for a main dealer....never to return again

If u cant get trade then dont bother with GM pads/discs - just get a pattern set from local factors....if u defo want GM stuff then theres kits on ebay that will save u about a tenner from main dealer prices.

Personally I would always get pattern parts instead of paying full retail at main dealers but each to their own

Well I've got the pads already (Delphi - Trade from work ) and there's some Red Dot discs kicking around, which my mate has offered me for 20 quid for the set. I haven't looked through them all yet, but I was just wondering if any others would fit.
