    Question h7 hid install query???

A guy who i work for has asked me to install hids into his 98 passat, firstly do i need h7r bulbs or will i get away with the normal h7 bulbs as the lights arent projector.... also he asked will it pass an mot with these fitted???

secondly if i do need h7r bulbs where can i get these from cheap as there still £80 on ebay and a normal h7 kit is £40???

    thanks for the help.

    cheers

    Danny

    Do a couple of searches.

Basically the H7R Bulbs have a shade sort of thing in front that supposidly makes them comply with the rules. But its general consensus that the H7's are fine and you wont have a prob!

I got mine today and will be fitting them saturday.

after reading many threads, apparently they can fail you anyway if you dont have self levellers and headlamp washers whatever HID bulbs you are using. But I havn't read a single post yet saying that anyone has failed an MOT because of HIDs, but i understand you not wanting to decide for your friend...its much easier when its your own car as its your own problem lol
