Cool Le Mans 24 Hour 2008

Booked tickets yesterday, travelling down there and camping for 4 nights, have a grandstand seat just past the start/finish line. Can't wait, will be the first time I've been. Going with 3 friends, so will be an assured laugh and knees up weekend!

Just wondered if anyone else from AS/AOC will be attending this year?

Its the weekend of the 14/15th June. We are going down on the Thursday 12th, as proceedings kick off on the Friday.

Paid £150 for grandstand seat, which we booked as we wanted a camp site that had an allocated plot, and we had to book a grandstand seat to be able to get on the camp site that we wanted, probably as its inside the circuit, which was £86. Ferry I think is £75, for 1 car.

Works out we may about £190 each, which seems pretty good.

I'm not sure where it has all been booked through, as my friend sorted it all out.

great stuff. I would love to go and see the race one day.

I reckon the watching isnt that entertaining, judging that its an indurance race (correct me if i'm wrong), but i bet the atmosphere and the crack is great.

    have fun.

Yeah I expect it to get abit much after quite a few hours, but its the atmosphere, as you say, being there. It's the same as the F1 really, you don't actually see much of the race, but its the sound and the speed of the cars that do it justice. I'm in it for a good knees up to be honest!!!

It's something I've wanted to do for a while, for an experience!

Ill be going, it will be my fifth time.
I`ll be in the grandstand opposite the start line,
its a brilliant atmosphere especially at night!
and you can see everything going on in the pit lane.
Are you going to the drivers parade on friday in the city centre, if you are then get there early and have a look round the city centre, there is some great buildings and architechture, if you`re into old buildings etc....
If you go to the circuit on thursday for the practice sessions then you can get into the paddock and have a good look round the cars! atleast you could last year.
What ferry are you going on?

I'm looking forward to the night racing atmosphere, never witnessed racing at night before. Bet there must be the odd person sitting in their sleeping bags in the grandstand through the night?!!!

Yeah think we are going to the driver's parade, that's why we decided to travel down Thursday night. Ferry wise, think we are going from Dover to Calais. Should be fun pitching tents in the dark!

Looking at the architecture would be my kind of thing, not sure my mates would appreciate it though!!! We will probably still sleeping to get in the centre early!!!!
