Definitely vented, and atleast drilled. Some people dont like grooved though as theyre (supposedly) more likely to crack.

All front discs should come vented anyway.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
    Then again............

    Wrong way round.

Drilled disc's tend to crack more than grooved. Only way to stop drilled disc's from cracking is have them cast in at manufacture.

Seeing as you've got a 1.6 2003 sxi, the front discs are vented as standard.

As for grooved & vented... grooves are good, but not too many as every groove means less contact area.

Drilled are pretty pointless on 94.3738% of road cars, and can be prone to cracking (you got the them wrong way round Tom )

But for fast use with a lot of cooling down and heating up the fact that theres gaps around the edge allow more expansion, probably not a problem on a 1.6 road car though.

drilled disks always crack after hard life / age, if your after reliable brakes then i always say big is best, try and get some second hand, off a bigger eng car
