Have you had a look at the bulbs? Any difference between a normal H7 and the new, make your non projector lights legal H7R bulbs?
Whats the difference between this H7R and a normal H7 kit? (35w £45 & 55w £70)
The only pic i could find is this
And cant see any major difference - there is that darker area on the bulb surface but cant see the refractor on the tip that would be required to make them legal in non Xenon lamps...
I say sod it - join the club and just get some normal ones for £35 or £70 for the high power ones like me.
IF they do have the painted tip/refractor on the end then YES technically the legal requirement would be covered.....then again who knows if the paint is gonna be any better than the shit stuff they dip the xenon look bulbs in
Ahhh I see, normal H7 dont have any 'shielding', where as H7R bulbs do.
Would that make them legal in the UK though - that be the question!
what about the tip of the bulbs? stop the light emitting directly forwards...thats what the problem is with standard H7
Sod the legal side of things is what i say - loads of things may technically not be legal yet they'll fly through an MOT for example - in this case Id just fit standard H7 HIDs and continue to do so in OE lamps but each to their own
