    Exclamation Corsa C ABS recall!!!

Offical press release from VX (dated 2007-12-12)

CORSA C model recall - ABS control unit replacement

Vauxhall Motors is recalling c355,000 Corsa C generation 3 and 5-door models built between 2004 and 2006 and Combo van and Tigra models built between 2004 and 2008 to replace the ABS brake control unit. The new D generation Corsa 3 and 5-door models introduced in 2006 are not affected by this action.

Earlier this year Vauxhall completed an investigation into thermal incidents involving the previous generation Corsa and its derivatives. These investigations confirmed that vehicles which had previously undergone a recall rectification of the engine wiring harness, have an extremely low risk of a thermal incident.

The safety and quality of Vauxhall products remains the company’s highest priority, it therefore considers any fault unacceptable. Upon further technical evaluation and additional testing it was determined that new components were required, including an ABS control unit and cover assembly. These new components are now available and Vauxhall is launching a recall in line with VOSA guidelines.

Vauxhall is contacting owners by letter from Friday December 14th recognising that a recall of this size must be completed in phases to ensure proper care of its customers - who are advised to continue using their vehicles in the normal manner.

Vauxhall asks customers to please wait for their recall letter which will request that they contact their retailer to make an appointment. This will ensure that their vehicle is reworked quickly and efficiently in line with the phased programme.

Corsa owners who have any concerns about their car or the recall plan should call Vauxhall Customer Service on 0845 090 2044 or via email at vauxhall.customerassistance@uk.gm.com.

Seen the recalls being changed in the workshop. Most Corsa have a little bit of oxidation to the terminals and vauxhall are simply making sure that nothing happens.
The word recall scares some people into panick. Our garage has done loads of these already without any actually being shot.

Thermal incidents as Vauxhall calls them.

Yep ALL the cars that have been recalled are being recalled again to sort the problem properly.

No real need to tell owners, as Vauxhall will be contacting them in due corse.

However, i did the same and told as many people as i could.

Thanks for the reminder Ffoeg, i ned to book the wifes, and possibly my Dads car in to get the work done (again)

Vauxhall say they will be contacting owners, but do they know who owns every car purchased as 2nd or 3rd hand?

Past experience has shown thay they are blissfully unaware that my mother has got one - hence the heads up
