Extra air cooling of the turbo?

Would there be much to gain from making a 'shield' to direct/deflect air onto the turbo?

I bought a 'radiator shield' thing off here and thought if I moved it inline with the turbo it would direct air straight onto the turbo.

    it might help a little.

have you thought about a smaller rad pre turbo for the water for the trubo?? i know that what the cossy guys used to do. also you could cool the oil juts before the same.

    thanks Chris.

Well its going on anyway, every bit will help.

I like the idea of a little rad too. Like a little oil cooler but a pre turbo water cooler

Why do you want to direct air at the turbo, you NEED the turbine side as hot as possible as the gasses flow faster when hot, that is one reason lagging it around the turbine side is a good idea, you would be better off tryig to get the colder air to airbox.
Pre rads for the "cossy boys" are ok so long as they are small, if they cool the oil too much it doesn't protect well.
Some cossie boys take thier water pipes off and run without water cooling altogether, it is not essential on a cos unless running 350 plus on a T4, T25/3/34 don't totally need it.

The LET suffers from the turbo getting to hot which is why Vauxhall have brought out a cooling mod.
