Hey you you can wire it to use the standard steering wheel controls. I have it wired so in my car. You'll need the additional wiring adapter which you can buy from Halfords, i'm not sure of the exact part number but if you ask in store they should be able to help. The loom connectors need a little bit of modification to accept the additional adapter but nothing too serious.

If you need anything else just gimme a shout. I'll take mine apart to find part numbers if i get a chance.

    Hope this helps.

Easy peasy. 5 min job to install as well, simple plug and play (don't know where the idea of modifying the loom came from?!

    Sorry pete.

When i got mine i the connectors came in a block which wouldn't fit the plugs coming from the car's loom so i had to snip the plastic in between so the plugs would sit and then retape the whole thing. I'm sure i bought the right connector but the plastic was just too thick for it so sit right.

Glad someone knows of an easier way though!!

That Sony headunit will have a rear Auxiliary Input (phono plugs) that you can get a phono>3.5mm lead for and then plug any other source such as an mp3 player/ipod/laptop into using the headphone socket on it.

i have mine setup so if I'm off on a long run I can plug my laptop into my stereo (a Sony DVD headunit) and then I don't need anything else with me, the laptop stores it all

    just a thought
