has onyone bought a tech 2 obd diagnostics

    Hi all,

has anyone bought tech 2 obd diagnostic kit to use with your laptop?

Im thinking of buying one of ebay as there only about 30-40 quid and might turn out quite handy!

i had one, good piece of kit but you would need an old laptop or one with a serial port, i tried to use the tech2 adaptor with a usb lead, but wouldn't connect properly. The program is in some european language but the jist of it is easy and you can get the code no problem and use various websites to understand the problem. For £30 it's a good buy

ODB readers are good and for £30 there worth getting as u will make ur money back on it easily and can be used on so many cars. if your looking at a tech2 ones on ebay then its not the tech 2 that vauxhall use its some crap home made visual basic program that someones made and called it tech 2, a genuine vauxhall tech 2 unit sold on ebay a few weeks ago for £968

if you want something that mimics are genuine tech 2...then either get "op-com" or "vaux-com"
there is another one out there called "opel-scan", or "opel scanner" but that only works on non CAN bus cars like astra g etc.

    If you're not paying a grand, then it's not a Tech 2.

Hi mates! I just bought an op-com, but it doesn't do EHU (cd player) and display programming, things I was interested in. Does anyone know whether it's an old software version or the op-com does not support this kind o function? Thanks for any ideas.

You should check out of Vauxhall diagnostic tool (http://www.ukobd.co.uk/gstore/store/...p?idProduct=82) - its £300 for the Professional Version, and functionality is very similar to the Tech2 (if a bit more user friendly )

I'd be interested to know whether the UKOBD system is capable of altering the mileage display eg mileage correction.
