always ran the car on super unleaded - and for a long time used the local total which was great until the famous lamda sensor problem (too much silicone in the fuel happened a while ago). despite allegedly certain forecourts only being affected i dont belive this was the case as mine gave up the ghost but anyway since then i have used shell. now i almost instantly saw a major improvement with this fuel, always had a good 22psi overboost and a good strong hold of 18psi which the car seemed fine.
last night i had so much trouble finding a petrol station that held super unleaded anywhere in a 20 mile radius and i was forced to use the bp ultimate. so what is it that this fuel has, the shell doesnt......... the overboost can now shoot to 24psi and a hold of 20psi before it tails off.
i have done an extensive road test over the last 24 hrs and there is a major difference going on
the only change has been a change of fuel so is bp's ultimate a higher octane than shells? i was under the thought they were almost similar or is bp a 99ron and shell 98 etc, i did read about a higher octane bp fuel a while ago so are bp using that fuel now as the ultimate?
