Unhappy Having no luck with tyres/ wheels

Another thread about tyre problems but I won't bore you all

My turbo alloys have come out of storage where they have been for over 2 years and so far 3 of the tyres have gone down of of which happened on the outside lane of the M1 in the contra flow. Something didn't feel right but there was no way I was stopping.

By the time I stopped it wouldn't take air on the car and off the car and pumped up looked like this

No way thats going back on the car so I ordered 2 new tyres and got to see the inside of the tyre to

First noticed all of this inside, yes thats bit's of rubber

And then the rest of the inside

Looks to me like i'm lucky!!!

Big thanks to camskill.co.uk for their advice on ordering tyres at this time of year with the delivery and being able to change the delivery address when they didn't turn up the next day as they expected. I got 2 toyo's nice and cheap to

Sorry got to say you should have checked them before you put them on your car after 2 years of storage. When i worked in road side recovery we were for ever being called out to caravans with blown tyres in the summer.

Is that just where the tyres have perished over two years? It looks like somthing has rubbed the inside of the tyre, or possibly a dodgy tyre?

The 2 that have gone down and been saved weren't sealing on the rim for some reason, no perishing or anything

Tyres were checked as much as they can be before they were put on the car and then tyre pressures checked and pumped up accordingly, what else could I do Keith?

To be honest it looks like you have done more then most looking at your second post. Fair play.

To be honest I would have got new tyres after being stored on the rims for that long. The rubber gets brittle if not used for some time. Or at least got them off the rims to check internal walls etc. Easy for me to say as there is a tyre machine next to my ramp at work.

Also easy to say in after the fact.

Thats not been caused by tyres being stored for 2 years, thats simply where the tyre has been driven on flat with the alloy ruining the side wall.
