    slight blue smoke

i had a de cat a little while ago till i can afford a sports cat and since then i have noticed that if left to idle there is a slight buff of smoke when accelerated after

but is this just normal and when it had the cat i just didnt notice it? it doesnt seem to use too much oil no more than vaux say is acceptable anyway probably about half a litre to every 2k

am i right in saying its not too much to worry about it doesnt smoke when accelerated hard

    cheers for any help

Any blue smoke aint good m8, your obv burning oil, a few factors here, oil grade?.. back exh pressure?... you dont mention your miliage, half a litre every 2k is err, not excessive but its a fair rate, and since your cat removal, that may well go up. keep and eye bud.

oil grade was 10 by 40 iirc mileage has just clicked over to 93k but it has good service history the oil consumpton has been the same the whole time i have had it and thats been 2 years and it had 60k on it when i got it

its not a massive buff but its got a tinge to it as soon as you rev it its gone and doesnt smoke whilst you are driving it at all

I have a similar problem with my 1.6 16v sxi, Its a 2002 model & only done 46k, When i stop for short periods of time for traffic lights etc, i sometimes notice a puff of blueish smoke from the exhaust when i accelerate away again or blip the throttle, It doesnt do it all the time but its still a worry, Although its fine when driving just happens when left to idle for a moment or two,
Anyone got any idea's as to what the problem is??
    Cheers.
