try and get comparative valuations from ebay/mig etc to prove that decent ones still get good money.

The first offer is often silly. You should be offered the sum of money required to buy a car of the same model and similar age/condition.

    In short, don't accept it.

As Coo has sid look for others for sale (although there arent a lot at the moment), and try and get other prices from there. The fact it was a Cat C previously will go against it though, as accident repaired cars are never worth as much as a straight example would be.

Ask them to revise their offer, but realistically I wouldnt be expecting fortunes.

    What car is it?

And what is your policy excess as the figure they normaly give has this deducted.

As mentioned above gather market research, NOT FROM EBAY or MIG. it needs to be from a car sales website IE: autotrader or Parkers.

as for it being a Cat C this would noramly reduce the cost by around 20-30% (estimate)

if you need any more help you know where the PM button is.

So looking at it, you want 70-80% of £1500-£2000 minus £150...

So anywhere between £900 and £1450 really.

    That's taken from 70% of £1500 (£1050) and 80% of £2000 (£1600) each minus your £150 excess.
