    Crankshaft Sprocket

Hi everyone, helping my cousin out after her bottom pulley bolt worked loose on her M reg 1.4 8v astra. Stripped it out and we need new bottom pulley, bottom timing belt sprocket and new bolt. The timing belt sprocket i removed has a groove in which allows it to slide over woodruff key located in crank, the new one i picked up from vauxhall today has the key cast into the sprocket and wil not slide on, vauxhall are adamant that this is the one and only sprocket for this car and won't budge. Anyone got any ideas?
