    Vdo Cdr500

    ive recently disconected my battery and now stereo is asking for code and I havent got it an Vauxhall are wanting 40+ to give me it.

    I have found some software to find code but dont understant it, it says I need to read dump or something, anyone got any ideas as to how to get the Code??

    Try a different dealer who wont charge as much !
    ..no idea what software you are on about

    Or..try local 'Radio Decoding' places...as advertised in free car sale papers, often found in take away establishments, or scrapyards.

    software i was talking about is phillips CCR600v1.2e. its what dealers use to get codes. however I cant workout how to use it

    The dealers shouldn't charge you £40 for a code, if it's the orgional stereo that was in the car from new then a new keycode cards only about £20
