    Veg Diesel

Anyone running a Zafira on vegetable oil and diesel (single tank).
I have been following at length this in Renault Forum,
and wondered if there had been any experience/discussion of it
    on here?
    Let us know.

Check the diesel forum below, there's been various discussions on it.

Generally, you're fine with 5% bio in all engines, 60% and 100% bio are OK in the DTi but not the CDTi.

I use veg oil on my rover 220SDi, i think it all depends on what your fuel pump is, bosch ones are o.k. but lucas ones aren`t, though this may be different on vauxhalls, i run at 40% veg oil and no problems so far.

If its the same engine as the 2.0DTI in the Astra, then it will be one type of three Bosch VP44 fuel pumps

Bought 20L today for £14.29 from Bookers (no VAT required on veg oil).
    V nervous.

Anyone actually done this in a 2.0 DTI engine?

And to what effect? how many miles done successfully without problems?

it's supposed to be the same as using diesel. Be careful at this time of year as the veg oil will go sludgy in the cold. Mix it 50% 50% with some normal diesel and put it in a container outside overnight. Then in the morning see if it is still runny or sludgy. Obviously it needs to be thin to run through the pipes. The other thing to note is that some oils and bio diesels can strip the thin coating the crappy normal diesel has put on your fuel pipes. In this case you will go through fuel filters and maybe the fuel pump every few hundred miles until the pipes are cleared

We have a driver dose 40L of oil to a tank on a vectra B in work
it runs fine in summer this time of year he cuts the oil dose as it goes hard in the tank
start off with less oil and work it up over time
