have you checked the dimmer switch - easy to knock and dim it right down so that it's can't be seen

There is 1 bulb that lights that bit up.

    Maybe the bulb has blown

    will look into this ,
    just ou of curiosity
when i was checking the fuses i noticed that the bottom of the fuse board was clipped in ,is this removable to allow acces to the back of the clocks as i cant find an easy way of getting to the clocks without removing most of the dash to get to it

It does unclip but when I tried to do my friends one I couldnr get to it.

I think it is a case of removing most of the dash. I got pretty much all of it loose but couldnt get the stereo out

Unfortunatly grimick you are going to have to take you dashboard off to get the odometer module out so that you can get to the bulb in the back at the bottom that lights up your odometer. Have fun m8 it's a git of a job, my only advice is take you steering coloumn top cover off and remove the indicator and wiper stalks as without this it is very hard if ni on impossible to pull the dash up and over the steering wheel.

    Thumbs Up

    did this yesterday afternoon
    what a swine of a job ,
if it wasnt for this forum ,id have never known about the hidden screw behind the vent (next to the door)
just a tip for any one else who's goin to attempt this job
have a 1/4 socket drive for easy access to the torx screw mounted in the top of the clock surround and a well magnatised bit to keep hold of them screws ,when taking them out
i had trouble trying to disconnect the light switch assy ,but was able to pull the dash out far enough to get to the speedo assy to unclip it and unscrew it to remove it sideways to get it out to enable the bulb replacements
all put back n working properly now
    thanks guys for the help
