    Fuel protests- A different approach

Instead of boycotting refineries and fuel depots (as the problem lies with government taxes and not oil companies) , EVERY single HGV driver in the country throws a sickie or takes the day off on the same date. Tesco and Sainsburys dont get any deliveries, factories cant get their products out the gates, ports block up with containers etc etc. This way nobody has broken any laws and nobody can be held accountable except Mr Gordon Brown and company. With large companies crawling all over their backs, the Goverment would crumble and nobody would even have to get out of their bed to do it. HA HA.

although a very good idea it would never be pulled off, there will always be people going in on said day and things will still get delivered
seems what ever is done its not going to change anything

Agreed, and I know it would never happen. It couldnt in case hospital supplies and the likes would suffer. I hate saying this but I wish we were more like the french. Someone farts upwind over there and the whole bloody country is up in arms, and they seem to get their way in the end.

    Au revoir.

it would only ever happen if no-one said anything about when it will happen... which defeats the poiint really, as you need that spread of public panic to make the government listen. The only way the government will realise something needs to be done about fuel costs, is when Gordon Brown's car doesn't show up as the chauffeur didn't have the funds to hand in order to put sufficient fuel into the Prime Minister's Jag.
