Audi Style Daytime Running LED light strip

I saw an Audi R8 today () and i had an idea after seing the day running lights

Audi Pic for those who dont know what im on about (The LED strip).

    I found these on Ebay

I was just wondering does anyone know how hard they would be to fit so they only come on during the day. As i think that possibly if they are on at night with the headlights/sidelights the police may class them as dazzling and give me hastle!

Also would they be hard to fit into the standard lights, or can anyone else suggest a better place to put them! I thought in the Gap between the Headlight and front bumper (Blue in [Picture)! or in the Bottom Gap (Red in Picture)

I can advise wiring wise that it wouldnt be to hard to do so that they are only on during the day. A simple relay would do the job

Would i need some sort of sensor, or would it be better to wire it to a switch! Also how would i get power, would it be case of tapping a connection of the side lights?

Power from the battery via a fuse, ignition from the wipers, switching feed from the side lights, earth from the battery.

When all those wires are connected right to a 5 pin change over relay with the ignition on the fairy lights (thats what they call them right?) will come on and as soon as the lights are switched on the extra lights would go off

Why do you want them? They look cheap and nasty on the Audi, can't see them looking much better on an Astra. IMO of course

when i first saw the new audi's i thought about this mod to, think it could work, but only if done to a high quality.

i think you should give it a go, always worth trying something new!

edit: they are on the new a5's as well i beleive

would be better with a switch for sure, and your car would look more like kitt than an r8 (which is still good!)

i've seen 1 R8, very nice car, was behind me on motorway, didnt let him overtake me as i liked looking, but when got bored of rear view view, i let him passed and sat on his arse.

alot of money for a car though! but then again alot of car for the money some would say
