    cooling fan

i have a 2000 model astra and when i turn the car off the cooling fans keep going, also recently i noticed that a light was on in the dash but i dont have my users manual to find out what the light means - does anyone know where i can download one for free? or send a pdf to me?

also on the topic of cooling fans, sometimes my a/c does not work but then i go over a bump and it kicks in there is no problem with the coldness, its just getting it to start thats the problem? anyone had these problems?

Hi it is perfectly normal for the fans too stay on after the engine
is turned off and keys removed,
could you describe the symbol that is lite up on the dash?
as for the aircon youve definatly got a loose conection
either at the pump (under the bonnet)or behind the switch
there is a how to on here describing how to remove
the centre consul/dash to gain acsess to the rear of the switches

That light is the Electronic Cooling warning light. I had exactly the same fault as you, it's quite common apparently.

More than likely you have a fault with the Coolant Control Module, which is located forward of the N/S wheel and behind the bumper. It's held on with a couple of big Torx screws and has a fat old cable connected to it. The CCM costs around £75 from Vauxhall.

Easy to change. Remove the bumper, locate the CCM, undo the connector by pulling out the red clips each end and pulling down on the connector. Undo the Torx screws remove box, replace with new one.

Fitting is the reverse of removal.

    Hope that helps
