SEAT Toledo TDi (Maybe one for Techie)

I might be going to have a look at a Toledo TDi SE, on a 53 plate with 74k on the clock. It's the 110bhp, 5 speed version. With all the talk on the Golf thread about engines failing should I be weary of this one, given the mileage? And anything I should look for or be aware of when viewing. I would probably be keeping it for at least 3 years and well past 100k.

Also, it's up at a local independent dealer for £3995 which I thought was ok? Apparently 1 owner and FSH.

Oh, and am I right in thinking a tuning box should see about 140bhp?

    Sounds ok to me,
easy to check the history being it's a 1 owner car,
and yes very easy to get more power out of it.
If you don't know anything about cars, take someone who does,
Most Dealers would have done an HPI check, but dont take their word its ok,
Have a look at all the paperwork yourself, the Body panel gaps, and go for a good test drive.
Most Dealers cars have virtually no fuel in them, make them put some in and have a long drive.
Also don't trust them when they say they will service it before collection,
if you buy it get it done yourself, then at least you know it's been done properly.
    DONT TRUST THEM

You will be fine with the older 110 matey great engine if a little behind technology wise.

Its the newer stuff that seems to be suffering, but oddly enough not SEAT anyhow, they still stick to 10k servicing unlike the rest of the group, says alot really about longlife servicing.
