    Exclamation Major Electrical Problems

    Hi Guys,

Maybe someone can help me out with a problem that I am having with my Opel Astra G 1.6. Today, while driving, my indicators stopped working and I thought a fuse had blown. When I checked everything out, the following were also not functioning:

    Indicators
    Hazards
    Courtesy Light
    Front and rear fogs
    Rear window de-mister
    Lights-On Buzzer
Intermittant wipers on the front (full speed works OK)
    Rear window wiper
Lights behind the speedo and rev counter

I took the car to my mechanic who checked all the fuses which were fine and he told me that the "multitimer" was faulty and would need replacing. He also said that it would cost about £110 and about 4 hours labour to fit it because most of the dashboard has to come out. Is this information accurate? Is it possible for me to replace the multitimer myself? I am not a mechanic but I am quite technical. Any help would be much appreciated.

Reading all those faults the first thing I was going to say was going to be multitimer to, i'd have to check a few of the items though as I didn't know they were controlled by it

I haven't changed one before but I can say it's part of the fusebox so as long as you can get that down enough then it would be a 20 minute job. Can't see why it wouldn;t come down enough either
