    Has it been serviced regularly?

I noticed that after my full service that my economy went up.

yeh mate, the service light comes on but thats because i've done all the servicing myself.

would my straight through centre section exhaust be causing this??

Your straight through center section will increase fuel consumption Asim, yes.

Don't know by how much, but i wouldn't of thought it'd be as low as ~26MPG.
