    bump strips

    anyone know where the cheapest place to get bump strips for my 2.2 mk4? looks like the tail that had the car before me maybe painted them with a brush or maybe a sponge!! anyway there a right mess and i need new ones! thanks

    can you not clean them up, im sure there is a how-to floating about for painting

    either rub them down and paint them your self or take them to a body shop and i am sure they will sort them for you!

    If not i believe the lmf sell ones ready to paint!

    alternatively, source some from local wreckers, get primered ones from vaux? or as above use the how to and attempt them yourself!

    simply put the screwdriver behind the edge....with a cloth to protect paintwork, and prise them off, they sort of pop on/off

    bump strips

    they dont pop off, if its a three door then open the front door and push the bump strip from the end under the mirror towards the back off the car, it should slide bout 10mm then "wiggle" them off. if five door then do the same for the front doors then open the front doors n push the rear bump strips towards the front of the car. DONT USE SCREWDRIVERS. and as for doing it yourself, ive just done mine theres plenty of rubbing down with wet and dry involved but worth it in the end. go to paints4u.com.
