    Ipod adaptor kit

Wondering if anyone has tried this?

I'm not sure weather to buy a new alpine headunit.
Or just get this, My MP3 player is archos gMini.

So i'm interested in the Aux In as my default vauxhall player don't have it.

Maybe i should buy and ipod just, but i don't like them much.

I'm sure someone else fitted one of those and lost MW reception but unfortunatly it's the only ipod adaptor avaiable

I have heard stories about the headunits having a aux input on them already that has to be programmed by the dealer

Easily done to add Aux and get it programmed, but only on the CDC40 and the CD70, not the basic CD30 or CD30MP3.

Can you not just install it and use it straight away? Im after one of these kits too, and will the steering wheel controls work with it?

So there's a difference between the CD30MP3 with a aux in as standard and a CD30MP3 without it?

Yes, the older one does not have the relevant pins at the back of the radio and also does not have the facilty to switch on aux input or indeed select it from the front. Plus it has different firmware. Having said that I have adapted one using the carcass of another but B****r me it was not very easy to do at all and I did it more out of curiosity than anything else.
