    auto closure

why dont none of the insturctions on here tell you when fitting the unit. after you connect the red to red. the blue to blue. and black to earth. and cut the wire that controls the closing of the windows. but no one tell you that you have to connect the yellow and red wire to the blue wire. i would of been there for hours. lucky i had some sort of electric knowledge. can some one please change the "how to". just incase other people on here are having problems fitting.

but great item. for the first couple of days. made sure i left me window down when getting out to show off.

i cant see why youve connected the red n yellow to the blue?
the red from the closer connects to the red n yellow
or brown n black (older cars)
the blue from the closer connects to the blue n black
    and the black to earth
the only reason to cut the wire (red n yellow)that controls the
windows is to make sure you have the correct wire
    having done what you have,
do you have all the normal functions ?
one touch window closure from inside the car?
and from the drivers door lock?
    and deadlocking?

The problem is that all the total closure units are different and you should always refere to the instructions given with them

Why does a wire even need to be cut?

    Hi Autosparks
there is no need to cut the wire should just be probed
but this is whats on the how to ?

    Graigy ,
did you buy this closer of stevie ?
it sounds like the ones he is making with the ,red, blue, and black wires
and in the how to with this,
it says the red does go to the yellow and red wire ,
or brown and black for early vehicles

The how to i've just read on this says nothing about cutting the wire of earlier and later cars with different colour wires. The difference there is coupe's or hatchbacks

Linky to the how to your reading please

I still stand by going by the instruction mauals that come with the unit rather than a how to thats possibly for another unit

I found it in his for sale thread, it's not the how to on this site although alot of it looks copied from here

I'd love to know why he says cut the wire

Autosparks , i just pm'd steve for him to send you the link
i guess cutting the wire is one way of finding
    the supply for the windows
but not the way everybody would do it ,
but it has the same result once all the wires are solderd up
